In 1957, he was appointed professor of painting at the Beaux-Arts of Avignon, later relocating to Aix-en-Provence in 1962. Beyond oils, Imbert was a versatile artist, also working in watercolors and incorporating materials such as sand, earth, and cement into his large-scale panels.
