Morphe by Dovile Bernotaite
Description
Morphe, Vol. 02
Original artwork by Dovilė Bernotaitė
Mixed media on canvas
Acrylic, dry pastel and oil pastel
160 × 150 cm
Part of Dovilė Bernotaitė's celebrated Morphe series, Vol. 02 is a monumental exploration of transformation, memory and the human form. Drawing inspiration from primal gestures and the tactile nature of paint, the work exists somewhere between abstraction and figuration, where bodies emerge, dissolve and re-form through expressive layers of colour and texture.
Derived from the Ancient Greek word morphē, meaning "form," the series reflects the idea of form as something constantly becoming rather than fixed. Earthy, atmospheric tones create a sense of quiet depth, while gestural marks suggest movement, emotion and fragments of memory. Rather than depicting a singular narrative, the painting invites an intuitive, personal response, allowing each viewer to discover their own interpretation.
A one-of-a-kind original, Morphe, Vol. 02 is both timeless and deeply collectible. Its sculptural presence and layered composition make it an exceptional statement piece, bringing warmth, sophistication and lasting character to contemporary and curated interiors.
