'Babies Basket' by Ellen McIvor
Description
‘Babies Basket’ My aunty was telling me of a time when she was walking country recording rock sites and other sacred areas. She found a basket made of a strong leafy material in the side of a big rock wall. The location is a secret, to be kept safe. Mothers would use these baskets to hold their young babies, securing them from the harsh conditions of the world. I appreciate and adore Aboriginal culture in the way it has sustained itself and evolved over generations.
