Françoise de Graffigny, author of the famous novel ‘letters from a Peruvian woman’ published in 1747, is one of the most important women in 18th century literature. She was a strong woman of her time who obtained a divorce before it was accepted, and frequented with intellectuals including philosophers & writers Voltaire, Marivaux, Diderot.
