Helle Mardahl
Copenhagen‑based artist Helle Mardahl creates molten, candy‑hued glass forms that revel in scale, colour and tactility. Her vessels and objects seem to hover between states, swollen, pinched, pooling, capturing the transformative moment when glass moves from liquid to solid.
Each piece is mouth‑blown and finished by hand, which preserves the sensual irregularities that make the work so alive: rounded lips, soft bulges, ripples that trap light like syrup. Colour is considered in gradients and saturated solids, building immersive tableaus when grouped.
In our curations, Mardahl’s work provides a brilliant counterpoint to the restraint of stone, timber and metal. It proves that contemporary design can be playful and rigorous at once; a combination that animates a room without overwhelming it.
Her studio practice is collaborative and exacting, with editions evolving through dialogue between concept and craft. The results feel both whimsical and collectible, living comfortably in domestic spaces and on pedestals alike.
