She is a proud Balnggarrawarra woman from the Warra nation and Guugu Yimidhirr language group, also with connections to Yarrabah and Woolgar.\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eHer work explores the continuation of Aboriginal culture post-colonisation and within the current social climate. She is passionate about her art being a vehicle for truth-telling and Indigenous advocacy.\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003eEllen\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003efirst displayed works in 2021 at the biannual Laura Dance Festival and has privately sold several works since. She found a basket made of a strong leafy material in the side of a big rock wall. The location is a secret, to be kept safe. Mothers would use these baskets to hold their young babies, securing them from the harsh conditions of the world.
